Could the Air Car be the next generation motor vehicle? Could this quaint car be the final nail in the coffin for the oil fuelled automotive industry of yesteryear?
The air car claims to be able to drive 200km on one tank of air. It is estimated to have a retail price of $15,000USD.
The people of this world are now demanding cheaper alternatives to their energy consumption.
The oil barons and Governments of the world have finally had their last slice of the money pie and with the peak oil crisis biting down hard for most of us. Now is the time to let new emerging technologies such as the Air Car, Tesla Car, Stirling Engine and the Whipmag enjoy their moment in the spotlight and with any luck come to fruition and full production.
We, the little people need to start harnessing and embracing all types of alternative (free) energy, and not have to depend on ‘trusting’ our Governments to deliver a viable alternative to the current global energy crisis. They tell us they are reducing emissions (with the exception of Bush – Kyoto protocol), when in actual fact all they are really doing is the exact opposite of what they say (instead they promote war, famine, oppression and continue with their New World Order campaign).
Free energy is very real, and now is the time to embrace such technologies.
Forcefully yours

The air car is very real. However, my understanding is that it is supposed to be a little bit underpowered compared to gasoline and electric engines. It gains its power from pneumatic pressure. At this point it might be good for taxi fleets or for places where light city driving is needed. It also would be excellent for powering slow moving boats or barges where speed and power are not a primary issue.

This sounds like a great alternative to oil. I look forward to more information on this. Great site by the way.

There are many alternatives to oil, it’s just that certain gatekeepers suppress such technologies; stirling engine, ZPE, etc.
If they can’t tax it, then it won’t hit the mainstream marketplace.
Many thanks for your kind words Shauna

Shauna,
This is a great video. I’m going to include it in my next blog posting about Zero Pollution Motors. I’m starting a series and covering as many companies in the Auto X Prize as I can and I’ll let you know when I have the post completed.
Thanks!
Damon

I also agree that in today’s world it’s corporations and private companies, not government, that drive many big social changes. That is why I’m so excited about the Auto X Prize contest to bring about big changes in the automobile industry.

Thanks for the info Damon regarding the Auto X Prize.
Here is a link to the Automotive X Prize.
It certainly does sound exciting, we will hopefully see a solar powered Stirling engine vehicle pave the way forward. Or even the Joe Cell in action
It is a shame that such technologies are suppressed from the masses.
It is true that the few control the many

I’ve heard about these air cars for awhile now, watching these run now on video, I’m convinced and excited!
It’s quite amazing, that the gas cars of today are basically arguably the same old technology since the car was first put into production 100 or so years ago. oil barrons indeed!

Cars were originally designed to run on rapeseed oil, it’s funny how they were converted to run on gasoline – more profitable perhaps…
@OD have you ever heard of the Joe Cell Device? Very exciting technology involving cars which run on water.
Many thanks for dropping by.

I havent heard of the Joe Cell Device, but went to wikip and it sort of reminded of a documentary I saw with cold fusion awhile back. Some farmer if I remember, it was in the rural area, took some water and put electricity through it to produce something like cold fusion… it was shown to “real” scientist and they seemed somewhat excited and skeptical at the same time.
wasnt there a movie based of a car that ran on water. that movie is kind of blurry now, but in it the govt came out to squash the technology… pretty interesting.
love the site! we live in some exciting times now

I’ve sean a tv show few weeks ago about this car, however it’s not realy 100% free energy because you have to pay electricity bill to get that tank filled with compressed air using your air compressor. But it’s still way cheaper than regular gas.

@Marcin
A very good point Marcin, The point of the exercise in writing this post was to ssimply demonstrate viable alternative technologies for the automotive industry. Regarding the cost of electricity…
Perhaps, when the oil oligarchs have had their ‘fill’ excuse the pun. Then we can bring to fruition more freely available energy sources such as Hydrogen (most abundent material in the Universe), heliostats, even Zero Point Energy.
In the meantime, we will continue to get ripped off by the few, who control the many.

Great post! This is my second time heard this air car. Engineers indeed never stop exploring the best and cheapest way of having a car. From solar down to chargeable battery.. now we have an air car. Isnt that amazing?
March 9th, 2010 at 5:26 pm
I’m of the opinion that ‘if it’s too good to be true then it isn’t’ so I’m not convinced by the idea of a car which runs on air. It would be great but it seems unlikely.

I’m really looking forward to seeing some of the more eco-friendly vehicles currently in development make it into production. It seems like there is real potential for greener driving but we need it sooner rather than later.

The key to mobile storage of an energy source is energy density. For an air car the potential is simply very small. Even at the very high pressures for an H2 fuel cell vehicle (lightweight carbon fiber tanks at 5000 or 10,000 psi) the energy recoverable to drive even the most efficient air motor is not enough for a practical vehicle.
The engineers involved should do the math and admit this, not try to push this over on more investors. Air is not an efficient method to store or transmit energy. And please! please! give the cover-up BS a break.
The power density in a battery or a hydrogen fueled car is very much higher than a simple compressed gas tank. The key now (in my opinion) is to use the cheap energy of today (from what ever source) to build an infrastructure of renewable sources as soon as possible.

@JPCotter
“And please! please! give the cover-up BS a break.”
The cover up BS lies in the fact that not enough alternative and perfectly viable technologies are properly investigated. Energy sources including solar, wave, tidal, wind, and even hydrogen can easily replace our current archaic energy model that relies mainly on oil. Yet little, if anything is done to bring these alternative and sustainable energy sources to fruition.
Not really a conspiracy, more of a conspirafact, as it’s obvious that the oil barons suppress alternative technologies in the name of maxing out their profits on oil.
Thank you for your comment though JPCotter, you made a very valid point that air is a poor substitute for powering cars. Still it keeps the tree huggers happy, talk of alternative car technology. Shame we won’t see any changes for the next 20 or so years. Until petrol prices hit stupid prices of say $50 a US gallon, or the oil barons have filled their coffers to the max.

thanks for a great blog, you covered the basics really well, if it helps you can find a Compressed air Trusted Trader to do the work for you at the bcas website, it’s short for British Compressed Air Association. Hope it helps and good luck with your projects.

That is to sad! The video you posted there is not longer available. Either way the proposal of alternative energy sources is pretty attractive at many levels. Personally, I like hydrogen powered vehicles. That is the future!

Thanks Solreka. The idea of the Air Car is amazing! I wonder where they will be available in the market. Maybe when run out of petrol.
October 22nd, 2010 at 1:15 pm
I doubt the air car will be available any time soon. After all, why should it when the powers that be can exploit the masses for all their worth in fossil based technologies.
There is a plethora of alternative technologies which are viable candidates for replacing fossil fuels, yet they will never see the light of day because of one simple word… greed.

The City air flow model even has a van, that would be amazing if businesses could run a fleet of vehicles on compressed air as opposed to petrol/diesel. Just think how much pollution this would remove from our cities, its a new technology and in its infancy, but the possibilities are very exciting.

Great post . Alternative way. This post can help those have car.. So I gonna share this to my family and friends

@hazel
We will only see this technology come to fruition once the petroleum oligarchs have had their fill. Only then will we see new alternative technologies hit the mainstream.
A car which runs on air… don’t be silly… where would you put the meter to charge people.
January 3rd, 2012 at 2:53 am
Will such cars be easy to repair if broken down? I had a furnace in my old home that the contractor claimed was green, but it ended up being difficult and costly to repair and was a major headache to me.
February 8th, 2012 at 9:35 am
I am very impressed by this car. Are there any newer models in recent times? I believe the victory of alternative and free energy over fuel powered cars is near, and it is almost time for us to hang the fairy lights in celebration.
