Relating to your 8th point, avoiding plastic as much as possible is ideal for everybody and their environment, that's why we launched a site devoted to WOOD items.

Dear Gimme A Dream,

I'm personally very happy to read your response that YOU PUT REUSABLE CLOTH BAGS IN THE TRUCK FOR NEXT SHOPPING TRIP. I think all of us should use reusable cloth bags instead of either plastic or paper bags.

BUT... What good can we do if we still use truck for shopping? We can certainly use small car and AVOID trucks. If we replace few bags of plastic with cloth made ones, and pollute the environment the OTHER way by using truck, then its more a showoff than any real concern for environment.

I agree with Tom whole heartedly. Sometimes it is easy to forget the damage that is being done and your 99 ways way help to remind me to ask for paper bags instead of plastic grocery bags. That way I have something to start the airtight. Better still, I put the reusable cloth eco bags in the truck for the next shopping trip.

As always, once again a very informative article. I feel so grateful to your efforts to educate people. We must shoulder the responsibility and do our best to save the lonely planet.

Many thanks for the support. In this dumbed down society we seem to live in, it is now more important than ever to 'remind' people how simple actions can help better the lives of themselves and everyone around them.

PS And if people still don't listen, then line them up against a wall and shoot 'em. :-) Especially litter louts.

I'm loving your "99 Practical Ways" series! It's a great reminder that small, easy changes in our behavior can help save the planet - Although one person on their own may not make a huge difference, collectively changing our habits is an important step in the right direction! Keep 'em coming!
