My mother was born a Christian and my father a Hindu. Neither really practiced thier religions I did not grow up to favour any. I was brought up in a Christian area where no-one I know believes in god. With a scientific mind I was satisfied with my belief that god cannot exist and that it goes against all logical thinking to think so and that people who did are disillusioned. The important thing is that you are a good person, you dont need god to have morals.

But when I started university I was surprised to find that everyone I met believed in god! To admit I didnt was almost like admitting I had no morals. I kept my views to myself and thought I cannot make an honourable opinion on any religion without knowing its ins and outs. So I read, I asked questions, I puzzled to understand religion from Christianity, to Islam, to Hiduism, to Buddhism, to Taoism and Sikhism. Having 1st hand knowledge of Chrisitanity and Hiduism I can see the fundamental differences in thier teachings and thier views of life. Unlike the creation of the world in 7 days, Hindusim sees that we are only on this earth for a split second of time and even predicted the big bang before scientists even did so!!

Research has shown that people with religion and prayer do recover more readily from surgery and disease. With alot of my friends being a part of religious societies and I with no religion or identity feel left out. Theres no such thing as an atheist or mixed race society right?! There are many people who tell me I will benefit from believig in god and I know I probably would. My boyfiend is of a different religion which is prominent in his family and this is the whole reason he is not allowed to marry me and I would be scared to marry him. When religion is not involved we make the perfect couple!

But however hard I try I just cannot believe in God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What can I do??!!!

"Within our own hearts lies the truth, we just need to make sure that our hearts aren’t clouded by the alternative agendas of certain Governments and people, who’s only desire is to deride, control and misinform us of the true truth."

Jeremiah 17:9 - "9 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?"

Why would I follow my heart??? I don't think so.... I follow what the scriptures teach followed by what discernment the Holy Spirit gives me.

Junglejim "I asked him about the meaning of life and the answer was simple - love"

Romans 12:9-13 "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality."

I found Romans 12 to explain pretty clear what the true meaning of life is.

I don't like to be religious but I am a Christ Servant to my abilities, we all fail and sin but through Jesus Christ we have the opportunity to cleanse them if we repent.

I just thought I woud give my thoughts into this article you wrote. Very interesting article however it had alot of religions involved and not many points from each one besides Einstein who was Jewish but later found religion in science. That is why he does have some quotes on God, however Science always overcame his beliefs in God.

I was not born in a Christian Home yet I accepted Jesus when I was 16 years old and have been trying to live by his ways every since and do not see myself living a different life, I can't live without a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
I don't follow God in fear... I fear him when I sin (same way as Adam and Eve feared him when they sinned) But again Salvation is here through the blood Christ shed for us and everytime I repent it's like I am calling God back and through his mercy I am able to reach his presence again.

I don't even know why I am writing this. But hope this helps someone.

I never used to believe in God, I thought it was an idea used by those who had a hard life in order to comfort themselves. Then I spent time with some shamans in the Amazon drinking ayahuasca and I met the guy. Sometimes I wish he didn´t exist because it makes the whole thing a damn sight more complicated, but once you´ve had an experience like that there´s no going back.

I asked him about the meaning of life and the answer was simple - love. Practice living your life from this place no matter how hard it is and one day all will be revealed - we will understand all when the time is right. Everybody is exactly where they are supposed to be all the time, it is impossible not to be - though acceptance of this fact is not always easy.

Clyde
Your words echo and ring out so much truth. Thank you. I'm glad I'm not alone in my thoughts.

I have exhausted myself, not to mention alienated myself from most of my friends by 'preaching' about the new dawning.

I now accept, that the bricks of life - the drones / ants do not need to be preached anymore. Instead, I leave them be, I inform them of my beliefs and if they choose to ridicule, mock or even agree with me then that's great. This is not a religious movement, quite the opposite in fact, it is a religion to discover our own inner God.

I do give people as much information as possible, it is then up to them to find their own path. I guess the reason there are so many lost souls, is due to the oppression and conditioning, not to mention the desensitization we have all undergone through the millennium.

You have to doff your cap to the Illuminati / cabal for the way they have controlled the masses for so long - quite a skill. And religion - bravo lads great piece of marketing - genius whoever thought of that one. :-)

With the advent of technologies such as the internet, it is now only a matter of time before the true truth slaps us all square in the face. The sad truth is that so many people 'bricks' won't know what it all means, or even care.

After all, it is much easier to belittle (bully) someone than it is to offer words of encouragement, or to debate in a non-confrontational manner. Hence the dumbed down society in which we live.

Once again Clyde, many thanks for your input, it is most appreciated.

I think the future will be a world with two kinds of people: - the blue pills and the red pills. One being the enlightened, the other group not enlightened. (this includes the 95% of people whom today seem intent on acquiring their own personal gain at the expense of any poor soul who gets in their world. If only they realised it's not all about money).

Peace, light and love

Well now I know your names Rob, yes we have been conditioned from day one to belive in god and to scurry along our little ant like lives making money eating shitting reproducing...which makes 80% of the people happy and thankful for god for giving them that wonderful life

For the 20% who really go out to find god, or to understand ourselves that god is in each one of us, the energies we can share to make the world a better place. The opening of our chakras to let the divine power flow through us and realize that all these barriers that religion builds for its own selfish purposes is quite depressing.

People like Big Billy exist all over everywhere, Billy Big possibly even supports the war in Iraq where a million innocent people have been killed but, its not his fault hes been brought up and brainwashed and conmditioned to be a brick in the wall.

Well life goes on, all we can hope for is the 20% can awakend atleast another 20% who would wake up some more. Then it would be so much easier to build a better world...

Cheers Rob!

Love,
Clyde

Thank you Billy for those kind words. In a world where our civil liberties are decaying by the day, I think 'holding my tongue' is the last thing I should be doing.

My opinions may not agree with yours, but I think it is of paramount importance that we share our differing opinions and debate such things in a constructive and non-threatening manner.

I don't think, if there is a God, that he would bring disease and famine upon me, instead he would commend me for questioning his or hers very existence. After all, I could say to you; a teapot is orbiting Jupiter - Bertrand Russell, and you would have no choice but to believe me, as you have no evidence to prove otherwise. Instead such evidence would be provided by the trustworthy Governments of the world.

We must therefore aspire to learn, share and evolve our knowledge amongst ourselves in a rational and non-belligerent manner in order to pave the way for a brighter future.

Regards

Hold your tongue boy or God will bring down upon you disease, famine and pestilance. The Almighty knows your every thought and blasphemy is a serious sin. Repent and all will be forgiven, carry on and it's down to the hot room for you.
