Ecology Building Society Set The Solar Standard For Lenders

Solar panels UKRight now in the UK it’s easier than it’s ever been to get Solar Panels fitted to your home. The public can search for solar panel installation firms on-line just as easily as car or trailer tent insurance. Having said that it’s still not as easy as it should be. Lenders, valuers and local planning regulations continue to conspire against these plans. It’s time lenders started to follow in the Ecology’s footsteps and support these projects fully. It’s also time we legislate to stop lenders ad valuers discriminating against those who have taken action to improve their energy footprint.

Confusing Options For Consumers And Lenders

One of the key problems with fitting solar panels is that in the UK right now lenders are very cautious. Read more…

10 Different fuels actually used to run cars

Guest post by satellitedish.org

Different fuels used to run carsWe have known, for quite some time, that the fossil fuels we use today are a finite source of energy; we only seem to disagree on when those sources will run dry. Alternative sources have been around for quite some time, including electric power and solar power, but none has yet supplanted dead dinosaurs. Presented here are some other fuels, some strange, some downright weird.

1) Trick-or-Treat – University students in England tested a Formula racing car that ran on fuel made in part from waste chocolate from a Cadbury plant. No word on whether-or-not the car was eaten after testing was completed.

2) Gobble Gobble – For turkey-lovers (Ben Franklin suggested, tongue-only-partly-in-cheek, that the turkey would make a more noble national bird than the eagle), the idea of putting a Tom into the gas tank might seem anathema, but viable fuel can be made from virtually all parts of the bird.

10 Cool Ways to Provide Power to Your House

Guest post by compareelectricityrates.com

ways to power your houseElectricity is something most people take for granted and don’t really have any idea how it’s generated. They just flip a light switch or plug into an outlet and pay the monthly bills for the service. This is amazing considering the fact that people lived without electricity for thousands of years. Even though we’ve only had this luxury for less than 200 years, most of us would have a hard time living without it. If something catastrophic happened or if you just want to live “off the grid”, what are some cool ways to provide the power you need for your own home?

1) Solar – If you live in an area with plentiful sunshine, solar panels would be a likely source to consider. There has been extensive research and advances in technology since solar power was first developed. However, this wouldn’t be a good choice for those who have limited sun. Read more…

The (Environmental Protection agency) EPA under attack

This guest post is by Eric Stevenson
epa asbestos With the state of the present economy, lawmakers are searching for any cuts that can be made to federal and state budgets. In this climate, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is in danger of losing $3 billion worth of funds – nearly a third of its budget. Many times, ecological benefits are difficult to quantify and therefore hard to present as justification for the EPA’s use of monetary resources. However, there is one area in which the EPA has indisputably shown large returns on our financial investment: human health.

The free market alone cannot be left responsible for the health and well-being of American citizens. Unfortunately, history has shown us time and time again that many employers and manufacturers will put profits ahead of the health and safety of their employees as well as their consumers. The use of asbestos in factories and construction sites through much of the twentieth century is a perfect example of this. Asbestos is an effective fireproofing material and, perhaps more importantly, is cheap and readily available, so some companies continued to use it for decades after the health risks were known. Global Warming is a SCAM

Global Warming Polar Bear

How did ‘Global Warming‘ become such a huge and widely accepted scam?

» Could Al Gore the whore be the main culprit, was it part of his campaign in the run-up towards trying to become the next president of the United States!

» Perhaps the ‘global warming’ campaign began it’s life when the UN was presented with a hockey stick graph by Michael Mann et al in 2001.

» Or maybe the discussion on man-made global warming was made popular by Al Gore’s film, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.

Al Gore bases his whole argument of global warming on one all important piece of evidence taken from ice-core surveys, where scientists drill deep into the ice to look back into Earth’s climate history. The first findings of the drill expedition in Vostock revealed as Al Gore correctly points out is the clear correlation between carbon dioxide and temperature. However his correlation is topsy-turvy to say the least.

  1. Think Outside the Box: -

Our children are the generation of tomorrow. For this simple reason we must nurture, educate, and pamper to their every need.

A bored child can be brought to life by a simple cardboard box, which a fertile imagination can turn into anything from a den to a spaceship. Before you recycle the box, let your child have endless hours of fun with a simple cardboard box and some paint. Of course, this simple concept can be used for most household items which we throw away without even thinking twice about (milk cartons, cereal boxes, etc). You get the idea.

  1. Go Green, Less is More: -

It requires much more land, water and energy to extract food from animals, than from vegetables. For example, in the USA it takes 140 litres of water to produce one kilogram of wheat, but a whopping 4,400 litres of water to produce a kilogram of beef.
