Is Dec 21 2012 really the date for the End of the World? Why are so many stating that the end is nigh? What evidence is at hand to satisfy these claims that Dec 21 2012 really is the beginning of the end or perhaps the end of the beginning. Will the World really end?
Maybe 2012 will actually be a new dawning, a new Golden Age where humanity will become enlightened and thrive in the 5th Dimension.

After all, look what happened to Y2K – nothing. So what should we be afraid of and what should we be looking out for as Dec 21 2012 draws ever nearer?
Are we really living in a time which many call “The Time of Trial on Earth”, “Judgement Day”, The Quickening”, “The End of Time as We Know It”, and “The Shift of the Ages”?

1. Mayan Calendar
The first to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a Mesoamerican civilization, noted for developing very sophisticated mathematical and astronomical systems.
The Mayan Prophecy – Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The 13-baktun cycle of the Mayan long count calendar begins on August 11 3114BC and reaches 0 (or 13.0.0.0.0 in the long count) on, you guessed it Dec 21 2012.
2. Winter Solstice
On the winter solstice of 2012, the noonday Sun exactly conjuncts the crossing point of the Sun’s ecliptic with the galactic plane. Whilst also crossing at the exact centre of our Galaxy. The scientific community agree that at the centre of every galaxy lies a black hole. Will our Sun get swallowed up by a black hole as it crosses the centre of our Galaxy in 2012? Only time will tell!
3. Sun Storms
It’s official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are non-existent. The sun is utterly quiet.

4. Hadron Collider (LHC)
The LHC otherwise known as the atom smasher or finder of the God Particle is the world’s largest particle accelerator. It spans some 27km underground and when it ‘s fired up to run at full throttle in 2012, it will actually create mini-black holes right here on Earth in an effort to understand what happened right at the start of the Big Bang. Maybe the discovery of the God Particle should be the least of our worries. The scientists assure us that these black holes will only live for a fraction of a second.

My heart gets so heavy after reading this – there’s so much good in this world of ours, and with just a little more care and attention, it can be even better for all. My guess is that the world will end much in the same way as life does – either gradually or suddenly – but who knows the date. Many have made this suggestion before. One thing is for sure, if we don’t take better care of our planet then who knows what grueling death it will experience. Food for thought post – thanks.

The is first time I’m hearing about the 2012 Apocalypse. And it’s interesting to see some of the modern or scientific points (HLC, solar flares). I’ve heard of some End of Days prognostications in the past that ofcourse never happened; in one case if I remember correctly there was a religious group that took all the monies from the followers as they all truly believed the end would come… I think this kind of prophecy appears in most all cultures and religions from past to present… not sure why this is case… aside from the monies and possesions, maybe it’s just a way to remind us that life is precious? that life isnt forever? that one should live life today as though it were the last? at least that’s what i want to take from this… i dont know. anyway, will be interested in seeing part 2 and 3 of this series

Loved the coments and the info but i would like to share with u belivers that Jesus started his work when he was 12 years old so on the 12 th year his worked began and will end in 2 days or 2000 years so for those belivers that belive in (GOD) or Jesus will uderstand this. I dont believe the world will come to an end in 2012. What i do believe is that a specific event will create a paradigm shift, which will change everyones views and attitudes about the universe, especially earth. We will see things differently and go about things in a different way. Evveryone has their opinions. It is only a matter of time before we find out who was right, if any at all. The mere thought of a possibility of such a significant event that is to take place in just over 3 years from now is quite frightening.

I am very sorry to say this, but the world will not end (to all catholic and christian followers). In the book of Revelations it state “No man knows the date or time Jesus will step foot on Earth again”. If you believe in god do not believe in this nonsense. It may scare you, but live your life at its fullest. If we wake up on December 22, 2012, pray. Pray to god to fulfill your life with happiness and joy. Read Daniel 12 from the bible. It talks about the end of time. “There will be 1.290 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end pf the 1,335 days. BELIEVE IN JESUS’S RETURN. Don’t be worried about December 21, 2012. NO MAN KNOWS THE DATE OF JESUS RETURN. Keep that in your thoughts.

Dec 21 2012 might be a starting stage, but not the end of the World.
As per the word of god, lot of things will happen before it comes to an end.
For example Swine Flu, Tsunami, Earth quakes, Storms, Wars and Dec 21 2012 incidents.
So, don’t worry about Dec 21 2012, it’s just a starting sign for the END.

Guess what…ITEM #2: Winter Solstice–Hello! Our sun will NOT physically cross the center of the galaxy. It resides in an ancillary arm way out in the more than a dozen or so other spirals at its farthest reaches. It may juxtapose against the center of the galaxy, but as far as that goes…so what? It’s like waving your hand in front of a traffic light, just because your hand covers it up doesn’t men its going to actually hit it or make it go away. Better put your brakes on that one.

Regarding the subject of 2012, I feel that the physical anomalies; galactic alignment, solar flares, etc may play a part, but I feel the real changes are going to be closer to home. There is definitely a major societal shift going on right now, and perhaps 2012 will as good as time as any to see these changes come to fruition.
I will go one step further and say I believe we will be in contact with alien life forms come 2012.
I realize there are many ‘carpet baggers’ out there trying to cash in on the Dec 21 2012 phenomena, my goal is one of information sharing, that is all.

I for one believe something dramatic is going to happen in the year 2012. It may not be the end of the world. It may just be a concious leap forward in a spiritual sense. We will be in the galactic plan and that may trigger something in our penal glands that will let us use all the parts of our brains that we don’t use now. And there is no way it will be some fluke like the 2000k thing. The Mayan’s knew something and were a very intelligent tribe. And Lets not forget Planet X. It now can be seen in the southern hemisphere and it is not a hoax.

Dear whoever,
You, like all of your proponents base all of your ‘research’ efforts on just nothing. You guys don’t even have a sold ground to back your theory. You speak so confidently that you are god and know everything and exactly what/when they are gonna happen.
Logically and sientifically speaking, if one has abit of a logic and commen-sense than they can’t help to disagree with each and every reason that you gave that world would end. Here’s my 2 cents.
1. Mayan Calendar: Infact all the proponents of 2012 base their sole ground on the Mayan Long Count. If your kitchen calendar comes to and end in few weeks at the end of 2009, what are you gonna do? You will get another calendar for 2010. No calendar is different or more/less than another system of the calendar. They are all created/man made to measure time, most of which are based on lunar/solar-based. The Mayan Calendar comes to an end, and they need to simply start another one (cycle). The only different is that it just works like an audometer. Let’s just put that aside for a second. If you do abit research, the Mayan themselves don’t attach any significance as the world as we know it, will end when their calendar ends, whatsoever. Do your homework at this part. It’s just the proponents, like yourself that add your own thaughts and theories to it. Tell me if its not enough, I can talk about this all you want.
2. Winter Solstice: To be honest, I don’t even understand what you are trying to explain. Ovbiousely you are a very ill-informed astrologist, or at least researcher on this matter. Here I am simply quoating what you are trying to explain:

What happens in the Winter solstice, is that the earth, the sun and the center of the galaxy will aligne (which happens every year, and nothing has happend so far). No sun will cross the black hole or no black hole will swallow the solar system. Any amature astrologist will know it. BTW, they biggest reason that you forgot to mention that could possibally, really end the world. And its is the pole-shift. In theory this could really end the world, and that’s the only acceptable theory. But, in reality, this is also not possible, and even if it’s, there’s no way it could happen in the next 3 years, for it’s a very extremely slow process, and it will take arround some 5000 years.
The world will not end in 2012, but there’s a good chance that we (people) can end the world.
I don’t even bother going into other reaons of yours, since its all non-sense and bull-crap. BTW, you are just in it for the money, aren’t you?

I am not in it for the money as you put it. I am not selling anything, nor is my site awash with ad links. I wrote the post on Dec 21 2012 simply as an objective view point on how I thought events might unfold come 2012.

PS I know not what will happen over the next few years, but one thing I do know is that the world is changing at an exponential rate, and 2012 seems like the perfect culmination for events to unfold.

The planet earth has been here for millions and millions of years, it has been this way forever. what makes you think it will end now? and its almost impossible for the entire human race to become extinct, esspecialy with all the technology now days. you would emagin there would be survivors, and a good number of them too. just for your information im really not too worried about this whole end of the world theory. they have been saying the end of the world was gonna come before most of you were even alive. so what makes you think this gues will be right if all the other ones wern’t right. you shouldn’t be so scared about this end of the world thing. because most likely its not going to happen. whats your opinion?

Just finished reveiwing the program on Nostrdamos and His “Lost Book” with 7 drawings pointing to a change in our universe as we know it. How a number of sources seem to point to a cataclysmic event wherethe Sun aligns with the center of the Milkyway Galaxy. Appparently, some believe these changes and events have already begun- from Hurricaine Katrina, to the depletion of the polar ice and rising of the Ocean level, to the possible depletion of animal species including Bees and bats.

First, Nostrdamos never predicted anything! The fact that people discovered and that an event occured in the past, and what Nostrdamos was saying is infact a post-dict! No one knows what Nostrdamos was thinking while he was writing his books, except himself. We’r all free to interpret in anyways we want.

I would have to disagree with this point. I think it is important that people educate themselves on the true agendas of the powers that be. There are many nefarious activities going on in the world, and the MSM (main stream media) are the last to report such issues, as many of them are part of the agenda. As such, I like to think that my site offers readers the chance to get a different point of view on such matters. Isn’t that what blogging is all about!!!
If people have a limited knowledge or understanding of a subject , then it is up to them to seek the knowledge to gauge what they perceive to be the truth. That usually comes in the form of reading sites such as mine, which merely offers an opinion on such subjects as Dec 21 2012 etc.
It is not stupid of me to believe in events surrounding Dec 21 2012. It is merely my opinion. Opinions are like arseholes, everyone’s got one.

‘think twice about what you write on the net’ – why? I can write what I like. I might currently be living in a police state (UK) but I can still, for the time being write what I like. I am enjoying my last days of limited freedom and freedom of speech.
Perish the thought if ever I wrote a post on OOPARTS, ‘growing Earth’ hypothesis, or even the question – ‘what is gravity and mass’?, you would have kittens, as these fields are hardly main stream, and they certainly don’t sit comfortably with conventional thinking.
I find it fascinating that you are trying to tell me what I should and shouldn’t write on my blog. I have no peers nor do I have to answer to anybody… especially your good self. I don’t publish content on the internet for adoration or praise. I simply write posts because I can, that is all.
I find it amazing that you are insinuating that I should include a caveat in my blog posts, stating to my readers that the posts are merely conjecture and heresay. Well, no shit Sherlock, when talking about future events, I don’t know of many people who know the actual facts, so therefore any topic discussing future events is merely opinion.
Why does the information I have to offer have to be false information!!! How do you know what will happen come Dec 21 2012 any more than me!!! Is it you who has something to share? How do you know for a fact that nothing will happen from now until 2012???

- I refer to ‘Good things’ as a time of great change for humanity. For example, humanity will become more of a collective race, our vibrational frequencies will be raised, we will become more aware of our higher selves. But before these good things happen, a lot of bad events will unfold first.

Your first dishonesty: You claim that you’ll get back to questions from your readers, within 24 hours. It just took you more than a week to moderate my post. This is in itself is false information. If you aren’t capable of doing something, then don’t falsely claim it.
As you said, every discussion about the future is an opinion; and normally, people states it that it’s their opinion, and do not imply it that it’s the fact. Besides, what you claim lacks credibility and authenticity. Even an amature astronomist will know right away, what you claim about everything in regard to 2012 are totaly false and baseless and you only ridicule yourself.
If one can do something, that doesn’t mean that they will / should do it, even if it’s something unworthy, like what you and your blog is doing. Everyone can put up some crap together and publish it on the net. It’s a blog, nothing more/less. With the technology at your finget tip even a highschool kid can open a blog–like yours–and start putting some BS in it. But, the fact of the matter is that it will not and can not change anything. You can not fool anyone, except yourself.
You still failed to provide a logical answer to my question(s). I asked you to explain these “good things” and you simply say ‘change for humanity’, do the ground work and back your arguments. No one’s going to believe it because you said so. Provide credible resources.
Can you elaborate what are referring to when you say ’series of bad events’ and why do you say it? Again lay out the foundation and do the ground work to back your arguments, or else you simply again fool yourself.
You can write whatever crap that you want. It’s your blog. When you write a non-sense article, then you should be able to open yourself up for criticism.

As mentioned earlier, I do not have any peer groups, nor do I have to justify myself to anybody. People are free to read my posts and make up their own mind.
Why do you seem to be so angry someone? I am not going to provide ‘credible sources’ as there aren’t any. It’s not like you’ll ever see ‘the truth’ reported on CNN news.

The truth is only what we perceive to be the truth in our own hearts, no-one else’s.

I state again, it is up to the reader to journey into the rabbit’s hole, to discover what they deem to be the truth. I am merely helping with this journey by writing a post which summarizes the various opinions on what may happen come Dec 21 2012.

As I was expecting, you exactly replied. You do not have any meaningful answer. I am not angry pal. As a matter of fact why should I be angry? It’s actually you who should be angry. You must have loved Roland Emmerich’s movie. I bit you’ve probably got your inspiration (and most of your ‘materials’ about this 2012) from his movie.
You see…that’s what I don’t get it. Why are you making a fool out of yourself?! Do you really think people will fall for what you claim? Do you really know what you are talking about?
Whoever reads your ‘articles’ will never consider them as a source of information, rather as a piece of mal-formed short science-fiction which is very very poorly put together.
Well, if you really want to keep your readers interested, then you — first of all — should provide realistic data, with credible sources. (I hope you know what I mean by credible, and it’s NOT a link to a site/blog like yours). This way, your readers will keep coming with positive feedbacks and more importantly you will improve your knowledge and understanding about a particular subject.
I am still waiting for the answer to the questions being asked since few post back. Let me repeat again.
- Please elaborate (If you at all know, and have a clue what you are talking about) what do you mean by ’spiritual awareness’, ’self conciouseness’, ‘good stuff’, and how are they gonna happen on such a large scale?

Let me start off by giving you some analogies. For example, would your website have been created by itself, if you hadn’t built it? Will a car will be built/assembled by itself, if an engineer didn’t design/built it? The answer is NO, as everyone with a bit of common sense will realize it. Similarly, the world and the universe would not have been popped up by itself, if it didn’t have a creator. So, who would be superior enough and able enough to built such an organized earth, sun, moon, the solar system, the universe and everything in it? It’s surely above mankind’s ability! Only one can be the answer, and that’s Almighty God!
Different religion calls God different names, but they all mean the same thing. If you don’t believe in God, then you are not a believer, and I feel really sorry for you. And most of all, you just contradict yourself, SolReka! because on the one hand you keep talking about spiritual awareness, and on the other hand you prove yourself a disbeliever!
