Is Dec 21 2012 really the date for the End of the World? Why are so many stating that the end is nigh? What evidence is at hand to satisfy these claims that Dec 21 2012 really is the beginning of the end or perhaps the end of the beginning. Will the World really end?
Maybe 2012 will actually be a new dawning, a new Golden Age where humanity will become enlightened and thrive in the 5th Dimension.
When broaching the subject of Dec 21 2012, many people believe that followers of 2012 are simply crackpots, doomsday fantasists, or weirdos who are devoid of any common rationale. After all, look what happened to Y2K – nothing. So what should we be afraid of and what should we be looking out for as Dec 21 2012 draws ever nearer?
Are we really living in a time which many call “The Time of Trial on Earth”, “Judgement Day”, The Quickening”, “The End of Time as We Know It”, and “The Shift of the Ages”?
Here are 9 compelling facts which point to great changes in the lead up to Dec 21 2012…
1. Mayan Calendar
The first to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a Mesoamerican civilization, noted for developing very sophisticated mathematical and astronomical systems.
The Mayan Prophecy - Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The 13-baktun cycle of the Mayan long count calendar begins on August 11 3114BC and reaches 0 (or 13.0.0.0.0 in the long count) on, you guessed it Dec 21 2012.
2. Winter Solstice
On the winter solstice of 2012, the noonday Sun exactly conjuncts the crossing point of the Sun’s ecliptic with the galactic plane. Whilst also crossing at the exact centre of our Galaxy. The scientific community agree that at the centre of every galaxy lies a black hole. Will our Sun get swallowed up by a black hole as it crosses the centre of our Galaxy in 2012? Only time will tell!
3. Sun Storms
It’s official: Solar minimum has arrived. Sunspots have all but vanished. Solar flares are non-existent. The sun is utterly quiet.

However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy; it’s been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. Or could the Sun’s relative inactivity simply be part of the Maunder Minimum, whereby the Sun is merely at the ebb of its 11-year cycle? The funny thing is if this were true, it means the Earth is approaching another Ice Age. So Global Warming believers need not worry.

4. Hadron Collider (LHC)
The LHC otherwise known as the atom smasher or finder of the God Particle is the world’s largest particle accelerator. It spans some 27km underground and when it ‘s fired up to run at full throttle in 2012, it will actually create mini-black holes right here on Earth in an effort to understand what happened right at the start of the Big Bang. Maybe the discovery of the God Particle should be the least of our worries. The scientists assure us that these black holes will only live for a fraction of a second.

My heart gets so heavy after reading this - there’s so much good in this world of ours, and with just a little more care and attention, it can be even better for all. My guess is that the world will end much in the same way as life does - either gradually or suddenly - but who knows the date. Many have made this suggestion before. One thing is for sure, if we don’t take better care of our planet then who knows what grueling death it will experience. Food for thought post - thanks.

If you think the world will end in 2012, why are you so concerned about alternative energy sources? We’ve certainly got enough fossil fuels to last until then!

You can never be too optimistic with a misty optic.
If the world does end up turning top-to-tail come Dec 21 2012 then at least there will be some happy souls out there merrily cooking away using my solar oven and not being dependent on fossil fuels.
In the mean time, we wait and watch the skies with baited breath.

The is first time I’m hearing about the 2012 Apocalypse. And it’s interesting to see some of the modern or scientific points (HLC, solar flares). I’ve heard of some End of Days prognostications in the past that ofcourse never happened; in one case if I remember correctly there was a religious group that took all the monies from the followers as they all truly believed the end would come… I think this kind of prophecy appears in most all cultures and religions from past to present… not sure why this is case… aside from the monies and possesions, maybe it’s just a way to remind us that life is precious? that life isnt forever? that one should live life today as though it were the last? at least that’s what i want to take from this… i dont know. anyway, will be interested in seeing part 2 and 3 of this series

Wise words indeed. Life certainly is precious. However, people seem to live by a materialistic money driven agenda. Is this all there is to life? I sincerely hope not.

i feel helpless and sad that the scientists right to “understand” trumps my grandbabies right to live. i’ve enjoyed the world God gave us-just wish my grandbabies could have the same opportunity. God will end this world when He’s ready i know…i think maybe the LHC may be the weapon of choice. a reminder(not that scientists believe in God) we humans were never meant to understand “God” particles!

I really feel all of this is another hoax to get money. No way the world is ending in 2012. I will bet anyone, any amount of money that we are here in 2013. And if not, we are dead and i cant pay lol! This is a joke all the websites and books writing about this nonsense.

Loved the coments and the info but i would like to share with u belivers that Jesus started his work when he was 12 years old so on the 12 th year his worked began and will end in 2 days or 2000 years so for those belivers that belive in (GOD) or Jesus will uderstand this. For the ones that dont belive in God please start reading the structure of a single cell. Came a long way and its about to end.

Dec 21 2012,i don’t believe it will be the end of the world but maybe the beginning of the end,Why because i know for a fact that JESUS IS COMING BACK (2520 DAYS)7YEARS LATER ,EXACTLY TO the date when the rapture happens.this 7 years is where the ANTI CHRIST ANARCHY STARTS,after the 7years that when JESUS’ SECOND COMING WILL HAPPEN AND THE WAR OF ARMAGGEDON BEGINS.ITS ALL IN THE BIBLE READ DANIEL 12 U’LL FIND IT.

i think this is the craziest thing i’ve ever hear i gotta admit i am scared but i agree with THE TRUTH because who knows…when we all wake up on 12-21-12 well see what happens if its not our time to go…well its not our time to go but we’re all gonna die anyway..i mean someday right..we cant all live forever!!! so this actually teaches us to live life to the fullest and love everything you got…and in a way it teaches us that we dont know what we got till its gone so…get over the 12-21-2012 thing…becuase by me i think theres actually a 50/50 chance you know what i mean!

I dont believe the world will come to an end in 2012. What i do believe is that a specific event will create a paradigm shift, which will change everyones views and attitudes about the universe, especially earth. We will see things differently and go about things in a different way. Evveryone has their opinions. It is only a matter of time before we find out who was right, if any at all. The mere thought of a possibility of such a significant event that is to take place in just over 3 years from now is quite frightening.
